A software engineer from Chennai reportedly drowned in Divvarevu Vanka stream near Kuppam on Sunday morning. The deceased has been identified as 27-year-old Bharati Dasan.

According to the Kuppam Rural police, eight software engineers from a Nandakam-based company in Chennai were travelling to Katpadi in Tamil Nadu via Kuppam in a car to attend a colleague’s wedding. They stopped at the stream for recreation, and Bharati Dasan, who allegedly ventured into the middle of the stream, drowned.
