Donald Trump signed a pair of executive orders to expand hunting and fishing on Thursday which, he told a gathering of outdoor industry leaders in the White House Rose Garden, mean “opening up millions of acres of federal land for our hunters and fishers.”

The orders seek to expand fresh and saltwater fishing and direct the secretary of the interior and other federal agencies to find ways to expand hunting, including of species not subject to certain endangered protection laws, within 90 days.

Those agencies will then have 180 days to propose rollbacks to federal restrictions against hunting and fishing on federal land and to find ways to expand using that land for recreation.
