SMRT's new AI-powered bus control centre flags sleepy drivers, harsh braking

SMRT in Singapore has introduced an AI-powered 'Bus 4.0' control center to monitor driver behavior and improve safety. The system uses onboard cameras to detect fatigue and harsh driving, allowing controllers to intervene in real-time.

It demonstrates the practical application of AI in public infrastructure to reduce accidents and enhance operational efficiency.
More than 1,500 fatigue alerts have been flagged since last year.
