BENGALURU: The skeletal remains of a 57-year-old woman were recovered from her residence in Bengaluru, police said on Saturday.The deceased was identified as Dakshayini, a native of Saundatti taluk in Belagavi district, officials said.According to news agency PTI, the incident was reported on August 7 from her residence in Havanur Layout, which falls under the jurisdiction of Bagalgunte police station.According to police, Dakshayini's brother, Mahesh Basappa, said in his statement that she had developed mental health issues after the death of her son in 2005.She was subsequently treated at hospitals in Bengaluru and Shivamogga, where doctors diagnosed her with schizophrenia. She also spent about four months at a rehabilitation centre for treatment.Police said Dakshayini had been living alone at her house for several years following the death of her husband in 2017.
