A six-year-old boy was killed in a road accident at Nedungapra near Perumbavoor in Ernakulam district, Keralam, on Monday.

Joshua Basil, son of Basil, a native of Nedungapra, was run over by a lorry after falling off the bike his father was riding, according to police sources.

The accident took place around 8.30 am when Mr. Basil, along with his son, was returning home from a nearby shop. The boy fell off the two-wheeler allegedly after his father applied a sudden brake to escape the speeding lorry which came from the opposite direction, it is learnt.
