Six trucks impounded for transporting quarry stones in Krishnagiri

Six trucks were impounded at border checkposts in Krishnagiri on Wednesday (July 29, 2026) for attempting to transport quarried stones. The move comes after the three-month ban imposed by the State government prohibiting the inter-State movement of mined minerals.
Two trucks were impounded at Zuzuvadi checkpost and two each were impounded at Kumalapuram in Thally checkpost, and along Krishnagiri-Bagalur checkpost.
Earlier, Collector C. Dinesh Kumar announced setting up of a control room t o monitor the GPS-tagged trucks licenced to transport mined minerals across the border. Surveillance along the borders has been heighten to enforce the ban.
