Six persons were injured in a clash that reportedly erupted at the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) meeting at Maruthuvakudi in Papanasam taluk on Thursday night. All the injured were admitted at the Government District Headquarters Hospital, Kumbakonam.

Inquiries reveal that the clash was a result of the claim by two persons for the post of Maruthuvakudi Branch Secretary post. The injured persons — Seshadri, Indirani, Shiva, Malathi, Vijaya and Krishnaveni — were under treatment at the hospital, sources added.
