The Tumakuru police have arrested six persons, including two students, for allegedly supplying ganja and hydroponic cannabis to college students and the general public in the city, and have seized narcotics and a luxury car worth a total of ₹44.3 lakh.
The Tilak Park police have registered a case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985, based on credible information that the accused were attempting to sell ganja from a white car near Sheshadripuram College in Tumakuru on July 10.
Acting on the information, a special team constituted under the supervision of Tumakuru Superintendent of Police Ashok K.V. conducted an operation and arrested all six accused on July 11. Senior officers and personnel from the Tilak Park Police Station led the team.
