A six-day public outreach campaign, “Uttarandhra Kalalaku Rekkalu”, will be held across Uttarandhra ahead of the inauguration of the Alluri Sitarama Raju International Airport at Bhogapuram in Vizianagaram district by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on August 1.

The State government said the campaign aims to create awareness among the public about the airport’s potential to boost economic growth, tourism, industrial development and employment in the region. It said the airport would help position the State as a destination for global investment and sustainable development.

Visakhapatnam Collector M. Abhishikth Kishore reviewed the campaign arrangements at a meeting with officials at the Collectorate on Monday. He directed officials to ensure adequate transport, food and drinking water arrangements for people travelling to the inaugural programme and entrusted responsibilities to the departments concerned to ensure the campaign is conducted smoothly.
