Six arrested for supplying Alprazolam to toddy sellers in Hyderabad
Police in Hyderabad arrested six individuals for trafficking alprazolam, a psychotropic drug, to local toddy sellers. The suspects were caught with over one kilogram of the substance, which was intended to be used to lace alcoholic drinks.

The Rachakonda narcotic police of EAGLE Force busted an inter-district alprazolam trafficking network and apprehended six accused persons at Rukmini Enclave in Macha Bollaram, on the fringes of Hyderabad. The accused were supplying the psychotropic drug to toddy sellers to lace the drinks.
Police said some of the accused are engaged in the real estate business, some own toddy compounds and others run food kiosks. Acting on specific intelligence, the EAGLE Force conducted surveillance near Rukmini Enclave at about 3.15 a.m. on Tuesday, August 4. A Maruti Brezza car bearing registration no. TS07FS5191 arrived at the location and shortly thereafter four persons emerged from a nearby apartment carrying polythene packets suspected to contain the banned substance, and boarded the vehicle, in which two others were waiting.
