Share A A A Four teenagers and two men were hauled to the ground and arrested on a major Melbourne freeway after an early-morning home invasion sparked a dramatic police pursuit across the city.

All outbound lanes on the Monash Freeway at Warrigal Road were closed about midday on Tuesday after a stolen car was seen driving erratically.

Images of the scene show people lying face down on the bitumen, with police detectives and heavily armed officers from Victoria Police’s special operations group shown surrounding them, along with marked and unmarked police cars around the stolen vehicle.

Freeway exits were blocked and lined with stop sticks.
