The contributions of Professor K.V. Sivayya to higher education, commerce and management education were recalled at programmes organised in Visakhapatnam on Thursday to mark his birth centenary.
At a national conference on “Re-imagining Commerce Management Education in India” organised by Andhra University’s Arts-Commerce College, Principal Commissioner of Income Tax B. Srinivas said education would play a crucial role in achieving Viksit Bharat. He said Viksit Bharat @2047 was a national aspiration and that commerce and management education needed to evolve with the changing economy.
Former GITAM University Vice-Chancellor M. Gangadhara Rao called for transformation in higher education and changes in commerce and management curricula to meet future challenges. Former Acharya Nagarjuna University Vice-Chancellor V. Bala Mohan Das recalled Sivayya’s contribution to commerce education. Conference organiser B. Mohana Venkata Ram said 80 research papers had been received.
