Sivaganga SP warns printers against violence-inciting banners ahead of memorial days for leaders
Sivaganga police have warned printing press owners against producing banners that incite violence or caste-based tension ahead of upcoming memorial days. Authorities have also mandated that all posters include producer details and follow specific regulatory guidelines.

Sivaganga District Superintendent of Police Abhishek Gupta warned that action would be taken if posters and banners contain slogans inciting violence.
As Tyagi Immanuel Sekaran’s memorial day falls on September 11, and Pasumpon Muthuramalinga Thevar’s birth and memorial day falls on October 30, a consultative meeting was held at the Sivaganga District Superintendent of Police office with printing press owners and flex banner producers.
Mr. Abhishek Gupta said, “In accordance with the High Court order, boards and banners containing photographs of caste leaders in areas including Ilaiyankudi have been removed.”
“Such banners must not be produced and supplied again. If anyone asks to produce and supply such banners, information must be provided to the nearest police stations. Action will be taken if posters and banners contain slogans inciting caste or religious violence, or photographs that threaten the public,” he warned.
