SIR: While people struggle to get notices, CEO says nearly 80% delivered
While people served notices for logical discrepancies and no mapping continue to face difficulties in even obtaining their notices and finding out the venue and timings of their hearings, the office of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Karnataka, said on Friday (September 18) that more than 34.96 lakh of the 43.81 lakh notices issued across the State had been delivered.
Of the notices delivered, hearings for more than 17.63 lakh, or over 50%, have been completed.
Till September 11, 24.97 lakh, or 56%, of the notices had been delivered. The figure has since risen by over 22%. Hearings have also increased sharply, with 50% of the hearings held as of Friday, compared to 28.18% a week ago, said the release.
