Sir Rod Stewart has cancelled his tour after undergoing heart surgery.
The 81-year-old singer pulled the plug on a performance in Cincinnati on August 9, just hours before he was due on stage, to undergo a “minor medical procedure” to address a health issue which “required prompt attention”, and it was announced yesterday that he was pulling out of all his upcoming concerts after having a routine coronary stent procedure.
His spokesperson said in a statement: “Doctors are pleased with his recovery, and Rod is doing very well and has returned to his normal daily activities.
“On the advice of his doctors, he will take the next four weeks to recuperate and regain full fitness before returning to the stage. Unfortunately, this means he will be unable to continue his current tour dates.”
