SIR: KPCC flags voter mapping discrepancies, seeks State-wide review

The Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) has written to the Karnataka Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) seeking an immediate State-wide review of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, flagging discrepancies in enumeration, voter mapping and the arbitrary usage of the classification of voters as shifted or deceased.

The representation flagged the case of Assembly Constituency No. 153 (Yeswanthpur), Part No. 512, where enumeration forms were distributed to all 1,016 voters, but only 654 forms were received and uploaded, while four forms were officially recorded as not submitted.

The remaining entries include 339 voters marked as permanently shifted, 19 as deceased and 265 as unmapped with the previous SIR. The KPCC said these figures required detailed voter-wise verification, as only 389 voters were being treated as valid, while the rest had either been removed or served notices.
