SIR hearings begin in Telangana, four persons from the draft rolls rejected at ERO level during verification
Telangana has begun the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls, with initial scrutiny resulting in a small number of rejections. The process involves verifying millions of voters to address anomalies and discrepancies in the draft rolls.

Four persons have faced rejection so far for enrolment in the final rolls during the first level of scrutiny as part of the ongoing process of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Telangana.
Two of the rejections are in Malkajgiri constituency, and two more in Nagarkurnool, as per the data available with the Chief Electoral Officer on Thursday (August 27). Over 2,200 hearings have been conducted so far, and 106 electors have been verified.
After conclusion of Enumeration Phase on August 10, and publication of Draft Electoral Rolls, the notice phase has begun along with the period for disposal of claims and objections on August 17. This will continue up to October 15, till four days before the publication of final rolls.
