SIR enumeration deadline extended till August 10

The Election Commission of India has extended the deadline for the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls in Telangana to August 10. The extension follows low digitization rates of enumeration forms in urban districts like Hyderabad and Medchal Malkajgiri.
Why it matters
Accurate electoral rolls are fundamental to the democratic process, and delays in digitization can impact the efficiency of upcoming election preparations.
The Election Commission of India (ECI) has announced another extension of deadline for the Enumeration Phase in the current ongoing Special Intensive Revision of Electoral Rolls in Telangana up to August 10. This amounts to a total two weeks of extension since the process had started.
The door to door distribution and collection of enumeration forms officially began on June 25, in Telangana, with an initial deadline up to July 24. Midway through, an extension was announced for the Enumeration phase up to August 3. This is the second extension offered by ECI.
