D4vd, the 21-year-old singer born David Burke, will stand trial charged with killing and dismembering 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez.
The girl's body was found in a Tesla registered to Mr Burke nearly five months after her death.
Mr Burke, who is being held in custody without bail, is pleading not guilty.
