Singappen Special Force to get 200 more teams in second phase: DGP Mahesh Kumar Aggarwal
The Tamil Nadu Police is expanding its Singappen Special Force (SSF) by adding 200 teams to enhance the safety of women and children. DGP Mahesh Kumar Aggarwal noted that the force has successfully created awareness and taken prompt action in harassment cases.

The Tamil Nadu Police will expand the Singappen Special Force (SSF) with an additional number of 200 teams across the State, according to Director General of Police Mahesh Kumar Aggarwal.
“In the first phase, we launched the 70 teams. Now, we are going to launch additional teams, around 200, in the second phase. Each commissionerate and district police limit will get additional teams,” Mr. Aggarwal told The Hindu after opening the All Women Police Station, Coimbatore East, on the premises of the Peelamedu police station in Coimbatore on Thursday evening.
The DGP said that SSF succeeded in creating awareness on the safety of women and children. The force took prompt action to rescue girl children on many occasions. The SSF personnel have also taken swift action in several cases of harassment of women.
