Silver jewellery weighing around two kilograms and valued at approximately ₹5 lakh was reportedly stolen from a shop on the upper floor of the Prakash Jewellery building at Gokulatheru in Kuthuparamba.
The theft is suspected to have occurred between 8 p.m. on October 4 and 8.30 a.m. on October 5. The incident came to light when shop owner Ratheesh Gyakkavad, 36, arrived on Monday morning (October 5) to open the shop. He found the shutter lock broken and the silver jewellery missing, and informed the police.
According to the FIR, the stolen jewellery is worth around ₹5 lakh. Mr. Ratheesh said it had been brought to the shop from different jewellery establishments for purification.
