Silver Ferns overcome Jamaica at Commonwealth Games

<p>Dame Noeline Taurua's side have beaten Jamaica's Sunshine Girls for the first time in almost four years, winning 53-48 in Glasgow.</p> <p>New Zealand were tested against Jamaica, a side boasting plenty of talent. But back in their black uniform, the Kiwis managed to maintain a narrow lead throughout.</p> <p>Coach Dame Noeline Taurua said the win was massive for the team's confidence.</p> <p>"We're progressing in the right direction," she said. </p> <p>"It was tough out there, defensively we knew they were going to be strong. We also had a bit of quiver on the way but to come out with the win is awesome."</p> <p>The Silver Ferns had a one goal lead going into the second half.
