Sikh veterans association’s suspension lifted for AGM

PETALING JAYA: The veteran affairs department has lifted the suspension on a Sikh veterans association and ordered it to hold its annual general meeting (AGM) as soon as possible to appoint an independent forensic auditor.
Suwaran Singh, a member of the Malaysian Armed Forces Sikh Veterans Association's (MAFSVA) mediation team, said the department accepted its appeal to lift the suspension on condition that the AGM is held soon.
The mediation team met the department's director-general, Semaon Marjuki, on Monday.
Suwaran told FMT that the department wanted the association to include in the AGM's agenda the appointment of an independent forensic auditor to audit its financial statements for 2024 to 2026, with MAFSVA to pay for the auditor's services.
