MANILA, Philippines - Tropical Storm Maymay (international name: Kujira) may make landfall over Ilocos Sur or La Union this afternoon or evening as it maintains its strength while moving slowly west of La Union, PAGASA said.
In its 8 a.m. bulletin on Wednesday, August 5, the state weather bureau said Maymay was spotted 170 kilometers west of Bacnotan, La Union, with maximum sustained winds of 65 kilometers per hour near the center, gustiness of up to 80 kph and a central pressure of 998 hectopascals.
The tropical storm is moving slowly westward.
