SIEMA to work towards increasing pumpset sales from Coimbatore to $5 billion
The Southern India Engineering Manufacturers Association (SIEMA) aims to grow the Coimbatore pumpset industry to a $5 billion turnover over the next five years. The association is calling for government support in technology adoption and import substitution.

The pumpset industry in Coimbatore is targetting a total turnover of $5 billion, said Ma. Sendilkumar, the newly-elected president of the Southern India Engineering Manufacturers Association (SIEMA).
Following the annual meeting of the Association held on Tuesday (August 25, 2026), he said the market size of the global pump industry is approximately $95 billion. Coimbatore is recognised as one of India’s leading pump manufacturing hubs and supplies pumpsets to several international brands. The region’s Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) have also established themselves as reliable vendors to major global companies and the SIEMA has played a pivotal role in the development and growth of the Coimbatore pump industry.
“It (the Association) has set an ambitious target of achieving a collective turnover of $5 billion (approximately ₹50,000 crore) through its member companies over the next five years,” he said.
