Siddipet celebrates 10 years of formation with Harish thanking KCR

Former Minister T. Harish Rao celebrated the 10th anniversary of Siddipet district's formation while criticizing the current Congress government for stalling development projects. He credited former CM K. Chandrasekhar Rao for the district's infrastructure and irrigation progress.
Why it matters
This reflects the ongoing political rivalry and debate over development legacy between the BRS and Congress in Telangana.
Former Minister and Siddipet MLA T. Harish Rao said the people of Siddipet had benefited greatly from the formation of the district ten years ago, and accused the Congress of cancelling development projects in the district over the past three years.
He was speaking at a public meeting held at the Government Degree College grounds as part of the three-day celebrations marking ten years of Siddipet district. He also offered Godavari water to the portrait of former Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) as a mark of respect.
He said the formation of Siddipet district brought administration closer to the people and helped improve public services.
He said major irrigation projects, including Ananthagiri, Gouravelli, Ranganayakasagar, Mallannasagar and Kondapochammasagar, transformed the district and improved irrigation facilities. He credited Mr. Rao, the then district administration and local public representatives for completing these projects within a short period.
