Former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Monday launched a series of development works worth ₹183.78 crore in the Varuna Assembly constituency.

While completed works worth ₹40.40 crore were inaugurated, foundation stones were laid for 134 new projects estimated to cost ₹143.38 crore at a function organised at Dasanur village in Nanjangud taluk.

The Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Residential School for Girls, constructed at a cost of ₹22.50 crore at Dasanur, was among the projects inaugurated on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Siddaramaiah said development works worth around ₹5,034 crore have been undertaken in Varuna since the constituency was created in 2008. Out of the four elections held since its creation, the constituency has been represented by Mr. Siddaramaiah three times by winning in the Assembly elections held in 2008, 2013, and 2023, while his son Yathindra Siddaramaiah won the election in 2018.
