Show HN: Grepathy – Claude made a decision nobody approved
Grepathy is a new tool designed to track and document the autonomous decisions made by AI coding agents during software development. It creates a 'why-pack' of markdown files to help developers understand the rationale behind AI-generated code changes.
Why it matters
As AI agents become more integrated into software engineering, maintaining transparency and auditability of their decision-making processes is becoming a critical challenge.
When a coding agent builds a feature, it makes a bunch of small decisions along the way that you never really approved. Later someone reviews the PR and asks "why was this done this way?" and you don't know. The answer is buried in a chat transcript on your laptop, and Claude Code deletes those after 30 days by default.
The article is a technical product announcement/showcase without ideological bias.
