Short mitochondrial protein may help protect the aging heart from inflammation and failure

Researchers at the National University of Singapore have identified a protein called STMP1 that protects the aging heart by maintaining mitochondrial structure. The study suggests that the loss of this protein contributes to inflammation and heart failure.
