Shivamogga Dasara committee offers pooja to elephants
The Shivamogga Dasara committee has performed a traditional pooja for three elephants selected to participate in the upcoming Jamboo Savari procession. The event, scheduled for October 21, will feature the elephants Sagar, Bahadur, and Somanna, with official preparations now underway.

The Dasara celebration committee of Shivamogga City Corporation on Thursday offered pooja to three elephants scheduled to take part in the Jamboo Savari, the procession of the Chamundeshwari idol, at the Sakrebailu Elephant Camp.
At the committee’s request, the Forest Department has decided to send three elephants, Sagar (41), Bahadur (40) and Somanna (36), for the procession to be held on October 21. Sagar will carry the howdah.
Shivamogga MLA S.N. Channabasappa, Deputy Conservator of Forests Prasanna Krishna Patagar, City Corporation Commissioner Mayanna Gowda, other officers and others participated in the ceremony at the camp.
