Why it matters
This extensive celebration highlights the BJP's strategy to reinforce its leader's image and engage with the public through community service initiatives, demonstrating political mobilization and public relations efforts in India.
The Shivamogga district unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will hold a series of programmes for over a month from Thursday to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday and the completion of his 25 years in public service, BJP Member of Parliament (MP) B.Y. Raghavendra said on Wednesday.
Addressing a press conference in Shivamogga, Mr. Raghavendra said the BJP would hold a month-long “Seva Sankalpa Abhiyana” from Thursday. “Narendra Modi took oath as Chief Minister of Gujarat on October 7, 2001, and served the State for 13 years. Later, he has served the nation as Prime Minister for another 13 years. For the next one month, several programmes will be held to mark the occasion,” he said.
