Shivakumar’s first Mysuru tour as CM coincides with PM’s visit

Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar is visiting Mysuru for the first time since taking office, where he will receive Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the inauguration of the Viveka Smaraka. The visit highlights a high-profile political engagement in the state.
Why it matters
The coordination between state and central leadership during official visits is a key indicator of political dynamics and administrative cooperation.
Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar will visit Mysuru on Saturday, marking his first visit to the city after assuming office as Chief Minister last month.
Upon his arrival, Mr. Shivakumar will offer prayers at the Sri Chamundeshwari Temple atop Chamundi Hill at around 11.30 a.m.
He will later receive Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Oval Grounds, where the Prime Minister’s helicopter is scheduled to land. From there, the Chief Minister will accompany the Prime Minister to the Viveka Smaraka on N.S. Road, which will be inaugurated by Mr. Modi.
The Swami Vivekananda Cultural Youth Centre has been developed by the Ramakrishna Ashrama at the premises of the historic Niranjana Mutt, also known as the old Anathalaya, where Swami Vivekananda stayed during his visit to Mysuru. The memorial has been constructed in his memory.
