Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office responsible for Regional Administration and Local Government, Prof. Riziki Shemdoe, has stressed the importance of inclusive development in promoting lasting peace and security in Tanzania and Africa.
He made the remarks on October 8, 2026, while delivering a lecture to officers attending the Tanzania People’s Defence Force (TPDF) Command and Staff College in Arusha.
Prof. Shemdoe said investment in security institutions must go hand in hand with funding for local government authorities to improve public services, address community grievances and prevent potential conflicts.
The lecture focused on integrating socio-economic development into sustainable peace and security in Tanzania and Africa.
