She married at 19 and called her husband ‘bhaiya’ at first; then love grew

When Muskan first saw Anil, she had absolutely no idea that he would one day become her husband. She was just a college student, busy with friends, outings and the carefree world of being 18 and 19. Anil, eight years older than her, was already working as an inspector, and marriage was something he and his family were considering seriously. For Muskan, however, the idea of marrying him was nowhere in her mind. In fact, her first impression of him came from a profile picture that was shared along with her sister’s marriage details. “The picture should be of the boy whom my sister has to marry,” she remembers thinking, admitting that the photograph did not exactly impress her. When she eventually met him in person at her sister’s roka ceremony, however, her opinion changed slightly.
