SHC adjourns hearing of appeals against Anmol Pinky’s acquittal

KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Thursday adjourned indefinitely the hearing of appeals challenging the acquittal of accused Anmol alias Pinky in three cases registered at Gizri Police Station.

A division bench rejected a request by the Prosecutor General Sindh seeking an urgent hearing of the appeals against the trial court's decision.

During the proceedings, the prosecution sought additional time to produce the police files related to the cases. The court accepted the request and adjourned the hearing indefinitely.

The prosecution contended that the acquittal of co-accused did not absolve Anmol Pinky of the allegations against her. It also argued that the delay in proceedings was linked to her alleged absconding.
