Sharmila dismisses reports of political meeting with Jagan

Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president Y.S. Sharmila has rejected reports and speculation linking a possible meeting with her elder brother and YSR Congress Party president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy to political developments or a possible change in her political alignment.

In a statement on Tuesday, Ms. Sharmila said reports claiming that she had met certain individuals or was preparing to join another political formation were “completely false”. She described the analyses and claims circulating on social media as baseless and alleged that they were being spread by people with vested interests. She condemned such allegations.

Ms. Sharmila said the last time she met Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy was when she invited him to the wedding of her son Y.S. Raja Reddy. If she met her elder brother again now, she said, it would only be to invite him to the wedding of her daughter Y.S. Anjili Reddy.
