Sharanya Ari assumes office as Virudhunagar Collector

Sharanya Ari on Monday (September 14, 2026) assumed office as Virudhunagar Collector. She has replaced N.O. Sukhaputra , who has been posted as Executive Director of Chennai Metro Water and Sewerage Board.
A 2016-batch Indian Adminsitrative Officer, Ms. Ari was previously serving as the District Collector of Perambalur.
Speaking to journalists, Ms. Ari, the 26 th Collector of the district, said she would give importance for conservation of waterbodies and renovation of rainwater harvesting structures in the district. She stressed that these efforts would be made into a public movement to ensure long-term sustainability.
Steps would be taken to ensure that all the benefits of various welfare schemes meant for farmers reached every farmer.
