Shamsudheen returns to alma mater, calls for colleges to become cultural centres

General Education Minister N. Shamsudheen returned to PSMO College, Tirurangadi, his alma mater, for the first time after assuming office on Monday (September 8). He was received by former classmates, teachers and members of the college management at a function organised by the College Alumni Association.
Mr. Shamsudheen, who completed his B.Com and M.Com at the college, said educational institutions should become cultural centres that help shape a purposeful younger generation. He called for strengthening school and college libraries to promote reading and writing.
The Minister was speaking after presenting Vottu Charitham 2026, published by the Information and Public Relations department, to the college library.
He also felicitated college student Tirtha Suresh, a reality show runner-up, and dancer Sreelakshmi.
