SHA Gives Hospitals Until July 31 to Contest NHIF Claims Worth Ksh10 Million & Below
The Social Health Authority (SHA) in Kenya has set a July 31, 2026, deadline for healthcare providers to contest verified claims of Ksh10 million or less inherited from the defunct NHIF. Hospitals must submit supporting documentation and reconciliation records to receive clarification or payment.

SHA Chief Executive Officer Mercy Mwangangi said in a notice issued on Friday, July 24, that healthcare providers yet to sign off on their verified claims can seek clarification before payments are finalised.
"SHA informs healthcare providers that have not yet completed the sign-off process for verified defunct NHIF claims valued at Ksh10 million and below that they may submit any concerns or requests for clarification to the Authority for review," she said.
Healthcare facilities seeking clarification were directed to submit their requests to directorbenefitsandclaims@sha.go.ke by Friday, July 31, 2026.
