SFI demands withdrawal of G.O. 97 merging polytechnics with Young India Skill University

The Students’ Federation of India has sought that polytechnic education remain under the State Board of Technical Education and Training (SBTET) and not be merged with Young India Skill University (YISU) as proposed in the G.O. No. 97. They called for immediate withdrawal of the order.
Several leaders of the organisation on Monday held a demonstration near Indira Park here, and questioned the absence of a government order on lateral entry, Engineering Common Entrance Test (ECET) eligibility and employment.
They pointed out that SBTET recognition and AICTE approvals are required for students seeking ECET and lateral entry into engineering courses.
