SFA investigating alleged illegal sale of raw meat at Sengkang void deck

The Singapore Food Agency (SFA) is investigating the alleged illegal sale of raw meat at the void deck of a Sengkang block, after a resident claimed he had witnessed the activity at least three times.

According to a report by Stomp, the makeshift setup was seen at Block 107 Rivervale Walk, with the resident alleging that a group would gather there on Saturday mornings.

The resident, identified by Stomp as Jamiro, said frozen pork was the main item being sold and that he had seen the group even late last month.

He told Stomp that the group appeared to be operating openly, with a cleaver, weighing scale and slabs of meat visible at the site.

Jamiro also shared videos of his confrontation with the alleged hawkers on Aug 29.

In one video, he questioned the group whether they knew that selling raw meat at the void deck was illegal.
