South African actress Nelisa Mchunu has addressed allegations of a 'sex-for-jobs' culture within the local television industry. Her comments follow similar claims from other media personalities regarding exploitation and audition misconduct.

ACTRESS Nelisa Mchunu has spoken out about allegations of sexual favours being demanded in exchange for acting gigs.
Speaking on the News Avenue Podcast with Sizwe Blose, Nelisa said she had heard stories about women allegedly being expected to submit themselves to secure acting jobs.
But she said it depended on the individual.
“That depends on a person. If you want to do it, that’s on you,” said Nelisa, who plays Fikile on Uzalo and has also acted in My Brother’s Keeper .
When Blose asked if it had ever happened to her, she laughed and said: “Angibhayizi phela mina (I don’t mess around).”
She then advised women against desperation, cautioning that it could make them vulnerable to being exploited
