Several fall ill after consuming food at church exhibition in Tharuvaikulam

Over 30 people were hospitalized with symptoms of food poisoning after eating lunch at a biblical exhibition in Tharuvaikulam, India. The food was sourced from a local hotel, and authorities are currently investigating the incident.

Several persons suffered from vomiting and dizziness after consuming lunch served at a biblical exhibition held at St. Michael’s Church at Tharuvaikulam in the district on Sunday.
According to police, several local residents ate the non-vegeterian meal served at the event in the afternoon. The food was reportedly ordered from a hotel in the same locality . By evening, many of them complained of vomiting, diarrhoea, and dizziness.
Around 10 of them were referred to Thoothukudi Government Medical College Hospital (TKGMCH) and others were taken to private hospitals. So far, no case has been registered in connection with the incident, police said.
