Seventh accused in Shiweda murder case denied bail
Matatias Ndengu, the seventh suspect in the murder case of Namibian prosecutor Justine Shiweda, has been denied bail. He remains in custody alongside six co-accused as police continue their investigation into the 2026 killing.

Matatias Ndengu, the seventh accused in the case about the killing of Ondangwa prosecutor Justine Shiweda, was denied bail in the Ondangwa Magistrate’s Court on Friday.
According to a source familiar with the investigation of the case, Ndengu allegedly travelled from Windhoek to Ondangwa with fellow accused Johannes Nghilifavali on 16 October last year.
The pair are alleged to have brought the acid that was later used in a violent attack on Shiweda.
The source further alleged that upon their arrival at Ondangwa, the two men met another accused in the case, Lukas Nekwiyu, before the attack on Shiweda in the morning of 17 October 2026.
Ndengu, who was arrested in Windhoek a week ago, appeared before magistrate Nelao ya France, and chose to represent himself during the court proceedings.
