Seven-year-old’s organs donated in Keralam

A seven-year-old from Tamil Nadu, who had been undergoing treatment for brain tumour at Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology (SCTIMST) here and who went into brain stem death, has joined the list of young deceased organ donors in the State.
Litiksha, daughter of Prakash and Pon Sindhuja of Neelavittan post office street, Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu, will forever live in the hearts of many in Keralam, for in her passing, she gave life and hope to several others.
Litiksha, who was undergoing treatment for brain tumour, had her first surgery three years ago. She was at SCTIMST, waiting for a second surgery, when she slipped into brain death on Thursday morning at 8 a.m. Even in their profound grief, her parents were willing to give away their daughter’s organs so that she will live through others.
