A seven-year-old girl died after accidentally falling into a pond while participating in a community cleaning drive at Panunda in Eruvatty near Pinarayi on Sunday (October 11, 2026) morning.
The deceased was identified as Mirza, daughter of Ranjith and Mafeeda, residents of Panunda. She was a Class 2 student.
The accident occured around 7 a.m. when residents were engaged in their routine cleaning activities in the area. Mirza reportedly fell into the pond that had no water in it.
Though Mirza was rushed to hospital, she succumbed to her injuries.
