Men in Mombasa continue to bear the heaviest burden of serious injuries compared to women, according to figures spanning 2021 to 2025. Over the five-year period, severe casualty numbers among males consistently outpaced those of females by a significant margin.
In 2021, a total of 136 males sustained serious injuries alongside 56 females. The following year saw a decline across both genders, with male casualties dropping to 122 and female injuries decreasing to 34 in 2022.
