Serena Williams Reveals Her 2nd Barbie Doll of 2026

Mattel has released a second Serena Williams Barbie doll, this time commemorating her 2005 Australian Open victory. The doll is part of a collaboration that highlights both her athletic legacy and her entrepreneurial career.
Why it matters
The collaboration serves as a cultural touchstone for female empowerment and sports history, while also functioning as a high-profile marketing campaign.
Serena Williams, one of the greatest athletes of all time, is more than worthy of having a doll designed in her image. So Barbie gave her two. After Mattel released a Williams Barbie earlier this year in honor of International Women’s Day that highlighted her entrepreneurial side since “evolving away from tennis,” the company partnered with her again to design another doll that celebrates her legacy on the court. The latest Barbie Signature Serena Williams Doll, arriving just in time for International Day of the Girl, sports the same kit the icon wore at the 2005 Australian Open when she defeated Lindsay Davenport. Her Barbie wears a lime green and white cutout mesh top, with a white skirt and matching socks and sweatband. She holds a tennis racket and ball in her hands, of course. TODAY independently determines what we cover and recommend.
