September likely to end on a wet note; RMC predicts heavy rainfall in T.N. from Sept. 30

September 2026 is likely to end on a wet note, with light to moderate rainfall expected over various parts of Tamil Nadu from next Sunday. Rainfall of heavy intensity is likely in different parts of the State from September 30.

The Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC) has forecast wet weather to continue till early October. RMC officials noted that the prevailing weather system over the Bay of Bengal is influencing rainfall in neighbouring States and extending cloud cover over Tamil Nadu.

In its forecast, the RMC has said that light to moderate rainfall would occur over various places, including Western Ghats districts and southern districts, on Sunday. Rainfall would cover more north T.N. and interior districts, including Chennai, Vellore, Krishnagiri, Erode, and Pudukottai from Sunday.
