First Additional District and Sessions Court in Madurai on Thursday allowed an appeal filed by four advocates, including the office-bearers of the Madurai Bar Association, and set aside the sentence imposing a fine on the advocates by Judicial Magistrate V, Madurai, for disrupting court proceedings.
First Additional District and Sessions Judge S. John Sundarlal Suresh allowed the appeals filed by S. Rajmohan, S. Mohan Kumar, A. Baskaran and T. Balarathinakumar. The Judicial Magistrate had sentenced the advocates to pay a fine of ₹100 each and in default of payment of fine, to undergo simple imprisonment for one week.
